How To Dry Sliced Apples In the Oven or Dehydrator! Talk about a tasty treat! Today I am sharing Two Ways to Dry Apples! Perfect on a salad, on ice cream, or a healthy snack. Grab your aprons! Everyone will love this Easy Apple Chip Recipe.
Remove the core if you choose. I prefer the entire apple. I love the finished look.
Slice at least 1/8" with a mandolin or a sharp knife. If you prefer crispy apple chips cut them 1/4" thick. Place in the pineapple or lemon juice for 15 minutes. I prefer a 1/2 and half mixture.
Place the sliced apples on a on the prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle them with cinnamon (optional).
Bake the apple slices for at least 2+ hours or until your desired texture is achieved. If you prefer a crunchy apple chip, cook for at least 3+ hours continuously testing for desired texture.
DEHYDRATOR METHOD

Turn on the dehydrator. Let the apple slices dry for at least 2 and 45 minutes or until your desired texture is achieved. If you prefer a crunchy apple chip, dry for at least 4 hours continuously testing for desired texture.
Notes
Both methods for drying apples in this apple chip recipe results in an equally delicious flavor.
Avoid skipping the lemon or pineapple juice to avoid dark brown results.

Store the dried apple slices in airtight container or bag for up to 5 days in a cool place. Because these are fresh and contain zero preservatives they cannot be stored as long as commercial dried apples.
