Swirly Marbled Candy Green Apples

Swirly Marbled Candy Apples

Ingredients

  • 6 small green or red apples, washed and dried, stems removed
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon clear vanilla
  • 4 drops white food coloring
  • 3 drops (your favorite color #1 ) food coloring
  • 3 drops (your favorite color #2 ) food coloring
  • 6 natural apple tree sticks or popsicle sticks

Instructions

Coat a piece of parchment paper with cooking spray.

Insert the sticks into the clean dry green apples.

In a medium saucepan, mix together the sugar, water, and corn syrup. Attach the candy thermometer and avoid letting it touch the pan.

Using a candy thermometer, heat the mixture to 302° F over medium heat. Stir occasionally with a wooden spoon. This will take about 15 minutes.

Remove the bubbly mixture from the heat immediately when it reaches 302° F and quickly stir in the vanilla and the white food coloring.

Add the second and third color of food coloring and swirl it quickly into the white bubbling candy.

Working quickly, swirl each apple into the mixture and place it onto the prepared parchment paper after dipping.

Let the candy harden completely before eating.

SPARKLE TIP! Add water to the saucepan and boil over medium heat. This will melt the hardened candy and make clean up much easier.
