Simple Salted Caramel Apples
Ingredients/Supplies
6 small green apples, washed and dried, stems removed, room temperature
1 (14 ounce) package individually wrapped caramels, unwrapped
2 tablespoons milk
flaked finishing salt
6 wooden sticks
6 paper straws
ribbon
glue gun
glue sticks
Directions
Butter a baking sheet. Press a wooden stick into the top of each apple.
Place caramels and milk into a microwave safe bowl. Microwave 2 minutes, stirring once. Remove from the microwave. (A double broiler works too.)
Roll each apple quickly in the melted caramel a little more than half way up the apple. Place the coated apple on the buttered baking sheet. Sprinkle a tiny bit of the flaked finishing salt onto the caramel. Cool.
Put a drop of hot glue inside the straw and slide the straw down the stick. Clip the straw to the length of the stick. Tie a bow at the base. SUPER CUTE! Right?! Enjoy!
