Sea Salt and Thyme No Knead Skillet Bread
Homemade bread isn’t as hard at you think. In fact this recipe is so simple it is my go to when I am in a pinch for time. This is a perfect recipe for a dinner party, taking a meal to a friend, or a treat for your family on a weeknight served warm. You must give this one a try!

Sea Salt and Thyme Skillet Bread
Ingredients
- 1 cup water, lukewarm water
- 1 tablespoon sugar or honey
- 1 tablespoon dry yeast
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary or thyme, optional
- 1 sprig fresh thyme to garnish
Instructions
In a large bowl, give the water or honey, sugar, and yeast a stir and let it bloom for 5 minutes.
Add in the AP flour, salt, 1 tablespoon thyme, and oil. Mix the dough together with a large spoon. Avoid over-mixing.
Note: The dough will be sticky. Avoid adding more flour.
Grease a large mixing bowl and gently roll your yeast dough inside. Cover with plastic and let it rise for 1 hour.
Preheat the oven to 400°F.
Grease a cast iron skillet with olive oil. Using a rubber spatula, roll the risen dough into the greased skillet. Sprinkle with flaked salt and 1 tablespoon thyme. Press a thyme sprig on top.
Bake for 20 minutes until the loaf is golden brown. Cooking time will vary depending on how big your skillet is.
Serve this warm with butter!
