Rich and Decadent Pecan Pie Brownie Recipe
Ingredients
Brownie Layer
- 18.4 ounce box chocolate brownie mix (The mix you pick should fill a 13X9 baking pan or dish. The boxes are usually marked Family Size.)
- Ingredients per box directions
- 2 tablespoons espresso powder
Pecan Pie Layer
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1 1/2 cups Light Corn Syrup
- 4 eggs
- 1/4 cup butter, unsalted
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups pecans, roughly chopped
Instructions
Brownie Layer
Preheat the oven according to brownie package instructions.
Line a 13 X 9 baking pan/dish with parchment. Leave wings for removal.
Mix the brownies according to package directions adding the espresso powder into the mix. Pour the brownie mixture into the prepared pan and bake for 20 minutes. (See notes below.)
Remove the brownies from the oven after 20 minutes.
Pecan Pie Layer
Whisk together the sugar, corn syrup, eggs, butter, and vanilla in a mixing bowl. Stir in the pecans.
The Magic
Remove the brownies from the oven and gently spread the pecan mixture over the top of the brownies completely.
Place the brownies back into the oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until the filling sets. When the pan tilts the pecan pie filling should stay in place.
Remove the Pecan Pie Brownies from the oven and let them cool completely.
Cut and serve. YUM!
Notes
Brownie cooking times will vary by brand and by ovens. Bake the brownies for 1/2 the bake time on the box. before adding the cooked pie filling.
