A few years back my mom sent me a fantastic 4th of July recipe using cherries soaked in fireball, dipped in white chocolate, and then dipped again in blue sprinkles.
Inspired by the colorful pretty to eat treat, this year I am dipping red apples into the white chocolate and sprinkles to make a kid friendly version for a 4th of July celebration.

- 6 medium red apples, washed, dried, stems removed
- 4 cups white chocolate chips
- blue sparkling sanding sugar or blue sprinkles
- popsicle sticks
Instructions
Line a cookie sheet with wax or parchment paper and set aside. Add the sprinkles to a bowl. Set aside.
Place a popsicle stick into the center of each apple.
Pour the white chocolate chips into a microwave safe bowl and microwave on high for 30 seconds. Remove and stir. Continue for 15 second intervals until completely melted.
Dip each apple into the melted white chocolate leaving 1/3 of the red apple showing. Let the excess white chocolate drip back into the bowl.
Carefully hold the apple over the sprinkle bowl and use a spoon to sprinkle the bottom portion of the white chocolate apple with blue sprinkles.
Next, place the dipped and sprinkled apple onto the prepared cookie sheet and let the chocolate harden completely.
