Hydrangeas & Flags 4th of 4th July Party Tables Decor: Let’s Style It!

Patriotic holidays, Army promotion parties, welcome homes, and hails and farewells are military spouse specialties. As an Army wife I have collected a serious stash of patriotic party decor. A Few 4th of July Party Table Decor Notes Before We Begin

Whenever designing a tablescape I always choose one special piece to design the table around, For this table it is the darling Caspari Paper Party Collection called Hydrangeas and Flags. Hence the title of this post. I chose the fun party cracker in this collection. Be sure to check out the links I added at the end of this post. 😉

4th of July Party Floral Centerpiece

This 4th of July Party Floral Centerpiece has a little secret. “SO SHHHHH!” It is faux AND fresh flowers friends. I have several hydrangea bushes at my home but the blue was a bit too deep for this table. I was beat out at Trader Joe’s by a bride with three buggies full of flowers to include the perfect blue hydrangea. SMILE! BLESS HER! She was throwing elbows to get in at exactly 9 am and grabbed every single hydrangea available. I was there at 9am too but moved out of her way. I did not stand a chance against her “determined bride vigor.” 🤣

The Vases

I picked these short disc vases by Threshold up at Target. The gold band is stunning and the height is perfect for great conversation. I find the Threshold line always has a nice vase for the season. Blue Hydrangeas

I always recommend fresh flowers for a party. If you are lucky enough to get your hands on these or cut them from you won yard you are blessed indeed.

BUT!

These are the SHHHH! They are the fakies in the centerpiece. Cut the flowers from the stems with wire cutters to fit the vase you choose and bend them into place.

White Mini LilyPot DIANTHUS Flowers

These white Mini Lilypot Dianthus flowers give a nice contrast to this 4th of July table decor tucked in the faux blue hydrangea blooms. I tucked these in jut before the party started without adding any water to the vase. Instead I used these tiny flower water tubes from Amazon. Fill them with water, pop in the lid, and stick the stem down through rubber cap. Tuck them gently and randomly into the fresh/faux hydrangea blooms. Voilà!

White blooms are easy to get year round. There are many great options that would be darling in this arrangement. (Babies Breath, Mini Carnations, White Stock Flowers)

PS Trader Joe’s is always a winner for inexpensive flowers.

Mini American Flags

I used 3 – 4 X 6 American Flags in this arrangement tucked in at an angle.

Red White and Blue Gingham Stars

I picked up 2 backs these cute little Red White and Blue Gingham Stars at Hobby Lobby for 40% off to scatter down the table. They are also cute in a bowl on an entry table.

The 4th of July Party Table Place Settings

Place Mats

These are my favorite placemats in my “celebration station” (aka “big closet full of entertaining things”) They go with everything!

White Dishes

I love a pretty white dish for seasonal use. They truly work for any occasion. I am sad to report that the La Porcellana Bianca Firenze Dinner Plates have been discontinued. The good news is that they can be found occasionally on eBay and replacements.com. I am on the lookout for 4 more bowls. I have selected other great options for versatile white table service.

Flatware

This is an inexpensive set of silverware from Amazon. It is great for a big party if you don’t want to use plastic utensils. It comes in fun colors for different seasons

Red Wine Glasses

Goodness! I have had these glasses forever! I picked them up on my first ever trip to a Tuesday Morning store. They have served me well over my soldiers career for many Army gatherings and especially for Christmas and 4th of July Table Decor. Check out these pretty red glass options I found for you!
