What Is A Hidden Message Dinner Rolls?

This fun idea became a tradition in our home when my husband wrote me a little note under a biscuit on a paper towel. Idea alert!

A Hidden Message Dinner Roll is a piece of parchment paper tucked inside two frozen dinner rolls and baked. When the partaker opens the roll, a sweet message for them is tucked inside.

What Kind of Rolls Should I use?

I recommend Rhodes or Sister Schubert’s frozen dough dinner rolls. I find them at most grocery stores and sometimes Target and WalMart.

What type of pen is non-Toxic?

A Sharpie Markers are AP-Certified non-toxic. However, they is not recommended using them on area of items that can be ingested. ONLY WRITE YOUR MESSAGE ON THE PARCHMENT PAPER and make certain the message has dried completely.

Supplies

Ingredients

  • 24 frozen yeast dinner roll dough balls (I use Rhodes Frozen Rolls.)

Instructions

Lightly grease a muffin tin and place two frozen dough balls into each muffin cup.

Cut the parchment paper into strips and write a message on each strip. Fold the message and place it between the two rolls. Repeat with remaining rolls.

Hidden Message Dinner Rolls

Cover the rolls and let them rise in a warm place for 4 hours.

Preheat the oven to 350° F. and bake the rolls for 25 minutes.

Remove from the oven and serve hot!

When your guests pull the rolls apart they will find a hidden messages. Have each guest share their message.
