Note: The optional egg wash will add a shine and help the seasoning adhere to the bagel. If you aren’t using an egg wash, brush the bagel with water to help the seasoning stick.

Conventional Oven: Bake on the top rack of the oven for 25 minutes.

Air Fryer: Preheat the air fryer 325°. Bake in batches without crowding leaving at least 2 inches around the bagel dough. Bake 11 to 12 minutes until golden. There is no need to flip them.

Let the bagels cool for at least 20 minutes on a cooling rack before cutting.

There you have it! YUM! A Healthy Yogurt Bagel Recipe!

Tips

  • I tried this recipe with three different types of 0% Greek yogurt. I found Fage gave a less tangy taste while Chobani and Trader Joe’s gave a sourdough flavor.
  • Drain any water from the yogurt before adding it to the flour.
  • If your dough is sticky, add more flour. If it is to dry, add yogurt.
  • Want to make more than four? Double or triple the recipe.
  • Store in the refrigerator for 3 days wrapped tightly in plastic wrap.

Thank you so much for your recipe. I cannot have yeast and I cannot have dairy. Dairy free yogurt texture is thinner than regular yogurt. So I had to modify the recipe 1 cup of self rising flour to a half a cup of dairy free yogurt. I got two bagels out of one batch or one pizza crust 8 1/2 inches with the crust so roll out to 9 1/2 inches to allow for the crust. This size allows it to fit my air fryer. For the bagels I cut the batch in half rolled each one to a circle poked my finger through the center shaped as desired by slightly flattening while turning with my finger in the center. I brushed with egg white sprinkled with seasoning baked for 25 min and they came out amazing. For the crust I baked it for 10 minutes cooled and froze them then all I have to do is place my toppings on the thawed crust and bake.

    1. Wow Diane! What a great trick! I am glad you were able to add your SPARKLE SPIN! YOU ARE WHAT MAKES BLOGGING FUN! We love these easy bagels too!

  4. Pizza dough? What is the process?

    1. Hi There Vickie!

      Happy Spring!

This certainly not a yeast pizza dough, but still delicious!

Pre-heat the oven to 400° F. Press out the dough into a disk and brush the edge with olive oil. Press the center down just a bit to make a shallow well. Bake for 5 minutes. Remove from the oven and add your sauce and fave toppings. Back into the oven for until crust is golden and the cheese has melted. Enjoy!

PS Another fun way to eat: Roll the dough into sticks or roll into sticks and cut into bites. Brush with melted garlic butter. Sprinkle with parmesan. Bake at 350° F. until golden brown. Dip into pizza sauce.

  7. Any idea on the calorie count?? Trying these today!!

    1. Hi Sandy!

Happy Wednesday! Thank you for reaching out. I am happy to help.

First let me clear up why I avoid adding nutritional values to Sparkling Charm recipes. With the numerous options to calculate (smart watches, apps, plugins for websites…) I discovered that plugging the ingredients of the same recipe into several of these options left me with drastically different results. An example of just the caloric values for a Yellow Curry Chicken: Pinch of Yum: 714 Calories | My Fitness Pal App: 455 Calories | Nutrifox = 327 calories. Of course I researched “the why” of this. ? These calculators send the ingredients across an API which uses the first ingredient matched. The first result varies creating different values.

I ultimately decided that with good conscious, I couldn’t claim one specific result to be accurate.

Sandy, to fulfill your request I am choosing “Very Well” for results. This calculator I choose for myself and family.

    1. I made this recipe Sunday morning. I had wanted to try this protein type bagel recipe with so few ingredients for quite awhile. I chose this recipe it seemed simple.
This recipe turned out amazing. I highly recommend. I followed the recipe exactly. I even made my own self-rising flour as suggested. I used Okios 0% Greek Yogurt and the white flour self-rising mixture I made. I topped with the egg wash and an everything bagel mix. My family raved. My friends pinned it and my sister tried it out wiyh a gluten free flour and loved it too.
This is going in my regular recipe rotation. ?

      1. Brenda! You made my day! Thank you for the review. This dough makes a great pizza crust too! Happy Thursday! -gwyn PS! I would love to see photos!

    2. Hello Felicia! Happy Thursday! You can. All you need to do is substitute the flour for Gluten Free Baking Mix or gluten free flour with 2 teaspoons of baking powder. The taste is different, and some prefer it. Have a great day! -gwyn
