DIY A Crepe Paper Peony Bouquet
DIY A Crepe Paper Peony Bouquet
I fell in love with paper flowers when I was a little girl. They are lovely and they last forever. A few years back my husband gave me a paper flower book as a surprise along with the supplies to get started. Since, I have tried many of the tutorials for table scapes, homemade gifts, garlands, showers, photo backdrops, and sometimes just because they are pretty. Some might say I over do it a little in the paper flower department. I say PASHAW! You can never have too many paper flowers!
This year I am making my mom a Bouquet of Peony’s for Mother’s Day in this cute “yokie” vase I picked up at a thrift store.
Let’s get started.

2. Fringe the three cream rectangles using sharp scissors.
3. Hot glue the three fringed rectangles to the top of a piece of wire by wrapping tightly.
4. Glue the three triple green leaves to the ends of three short wires.
5. Starting a the base of the triple wrapped leaves, rap the top four inches of the wire with floral tape.
6. Using your thumbs, pull the top edges and the centers of the small petals, the hear-shaped petals, and the large petals to ruffle and cup. Set Aside.
7. Glue the 7 single small petals to the base of the wrapped fringe followed by the heart-shaped petals. Finish with the large single cupped petals.
8. Turn the bloom over and glue the 5 single leaves to the base of the bloom.
9. Starting at the base of the green leaves, wrap the wire with floral tape. Tear off tape and repeat this step.
10. Beginning two inches under single leaves, add a wire wrapped triple leaf and wrap with floral tape. Repeat this step with the two remaining triple wrapped wire leaves down the stem covering with floral tape along the way.
11. Arrange the triple wire leaves into place under the bloom.
12. Repeat this process to make as many lovely peony’s as your heart desires.
